Overview

Restyle is a mobile app that unlocks the full potential of any wardrobe. By uploading a single clothing item, the app leverages AI to generate multiple outfit suggestions, helping users mix and match pieces for every occasion.

The Goal: To make fashion more creative, personalized, and sustainable by encouraging users to reimagine the clothes they already own.

Problem Statement

Many people experience the frustration: “I have nothing to wear” even with a closet full of clothes. This happens because:

• Items are hard to visualize in new combinations.
• Outfit repetition leads to boredom.
• Excessive shopping creates waste.
  

Restyle addresses this by instantly generating AI-driven outfit inspiration, transforming single pieces into countless styling possibilities.

The Restyle Journey

1. Upload Flow

• Users upload or photograph a clothing item.
• AI detects type, color, and style attributes.

2. Style Creation

• Users confirm attributes and set style preferences (casual, formal, chic, etc.).
• Restyle generates unique outfit ideas centered around the uploaded piece.
• A friendly loading state reassures users while AI processes suggestions.
  

3. Style Suggestions

• A scrollable gallery showcases different outfit combinations.
• Users can preview, like, save, or reject looks.
• Feedback refines future AI recommendations.

4. Personalization

• Style Profile: Users define preferences such as favorite colors, cuts, and brands.
• AI learning: Saved outfits help Restyle evolve and improve suggestions over time.

Reflection

Although Restyle was never implemented, this project helped me:

• Practice simplifying complex AI workflows into a user-friendly flow.
• Strengthen my ability to design for personalization and sustainability.
